Persib Bandung has continued its positive trend in the continuation of the Indonesian League 1. Against Persikabo 1973, Maung Bandung won with a convincing score of 3-1.

The match entitled the West Java Derby will be presented at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali on Friday (15/3/2024) at 20.30 WIB. Persib took the lead through David da Silva’s brace and Stefano Beltrame’s goal, while Yandi Sofyan scored Persikabo’s consolation goal.

David da Silva, who ran to meet the ball, had to be fouled by the Persikabo goalkeeper, Syahrul Fadillah. The penalty that Persib received was utilized perfectly by David da Silva, which made the score 1-0 in favor of Persib Bandung.

Surprised by the quick goal, Persikabo immediately played Persib’s game. Laskar Padjajaran even almost equalized when the match had not even entered the 15th minute, but unfortunately the Persikabo players were declared offside first.

After that, buying and selling attacks continued to occur. Persib threatened several times into the opponent’s defense area, as well as sporadic attacks carried out by Persikabo. However, Kevin Mendoza was too tough for Laskar Padjadjaran to beat.

The high tension of the match also meant that 2 Persib players had to receive yellow cards. The referee gave cards to Dedi Kusnandar and Ryan Kurnia who were competing for the ball with Persikabo 1973 players.

Meanwhile, Persikabo continues to try to equalize. It’s just that Kevin Ray Mendoza was so powerful that he was penetrated at least until the 30th minute of the match.

Disaster struck for Persib in the 36th minute. Dedi Kusnandar was awarded a second yellow card after fouling Pedrinho. The player who is familiarly called Dado finally had to leave the field first.

Losing Dado made Bojan Hodak have to rack his brains. He then withdrew Ryan Kurnia and brought on Ezra Walian in the 38th minute to strengthen Persib Bandung’s midfield.

Towards the end of the first half, buying and selling attacks were carried out by both teams. Persikabo tried to press after the player was ahead. However, until the whistle sounded, the temporary score was still for Persib with 1-0 against Persikabo 1973.

Second round

In the second half, Persikabo 1973 immediately overhauled its attack line. Pedro came on to replace Caca Basilio to turn things around.

Pedro’s presence then seemed to give Persikabo additional breath. Their attacks became more lively, even though they were repeatedly saved by Maung Bandung’s defensive line.

Even though they played with 10 players, Persib was able to steal a goal in the second half. In the 58th minute, Persikabo’s defensive line error was immediately converted by Persib into a winning goal.

Starting from a Persikabo player who incorrectly secured a wild ball, the ball then rolled to Ciro Alves’ feet. Without any significant guard, Ciro immediately combed the right side of the attack and sent feedback to Stefano Beltrame.

Beltrame also escaped the control of the Persikabo players. His shot then missed Syahrul Fadillah’s goal which made the final score 2-0 in favor of Persib Bandung.

Not even ten minutes later, Persib again took the lead away. David da Silva’s kick outside the penalty box in the 65th minute went straight into Persikabo’s goal, which made Persib’s lead now move away to 3-0.

Even though they were already 3 goals ahead, Persib was apparently not satisfied with sealing the win. David da Silva almost scored a hat trick in the 75th minute, but unfortunately his penetration was thwarted by the Persikabo goalkeeper.

Behind 3 goals, Persikabo seemed too frustrated to put up resistance. Persib’s strong defensive line, plus brilliant support from Kevin Ray Mendoza, meant that Laskar Padjajaran’s attacks always met a deadlock.

After repeatedly attacking, Persikabo finally broke into Persib Bandung’s goal. In the 86th minute, Yandi Sofyan managed to send a hard kick which resulted in a goal for Persikabo to make it 1-3.

Yandi’s only goal was the only goal for Persikabo. Until the long whistle sounded, Persib won with a score of 3-1.
