11 months later you save over 160,000

Competition in the Norwegian new car market is fierce. This applies in particular in one car class: Electric family SUVs.

If you are looking for one like this, you now have a lot to choose from. There are also many price cuts and good offers here.

The latest in this regard is Nissan, which from 3 May is lowering the price of its Ariya. Prices are reduced by between NOK 40,000 and 50,000, depending on the model.

Strong price reduction

This means an entry price for the Ariya with battery pack of 63 kWt and front-wheel drive of NOK 349,900. This has a range of 404 kilometers.

For the largest battery pack of 87 kWt and 4×4 (e-4ORCE) the price is NOK 459,300. The range figure on this is 515 kilometers.

With this, Ariya prices itself below most comparable competitors. This is also a solid price reduction from when Ariya was launched. Until 6 June last year, the version with 4×4 cost over NOK 600,000. 11 months later, you save over NOK 160,000.

With a length of 4.59 metres, the Ariya is in the middle of what we can call the family car class. The luggage compartment is 468 liters with two-wheel drive. With 4×4, this drops to 415.

Norway ran away with half of the first cars

COMPETITION: Ariya belongs to a class with a lot of cars, here the competition is tough.

Strongest card

This is what we wrote when we tested Airya last year:

Nissan is late with its Ariya. Because while we have been waiting for this for several years, many strong competitors have appeared. Nissan has thus not made it easier for itself. Despite this: The car is holding up well.

Again, we must highlight the interior. It is the car’s strongest card. So well-being on board, good range, good comfort and nice, modern design appeal. If the car is of the usual Nissan standard, you get, by all accounts, a simple and uncomplicated car maintenance as well.

STRENGTH: The interior of the Ariya has received a lot of praise, it feels considerably more luxurious than in many of the competitors.

Charging box or service agreement

It is part of the matter that during a campaign period until 30 June Nissan offers 1.99 per cent interest, and that customers can choose between a home charger and a service agreement.

Nissan is thus far from the only one to have lowered its prices. It all started in many ways last January, when Tesla significantly cut the price of its Model Y. That forced many of the competitors to catch up, and since then we have seen a price war in this market. Just this week, Kia has cut the price of its EV6, while MG has reduced the price of several of its models.
