On Thursday, singer Billie Eilish (22) made millions of her fans happy – she surprisingly added her entire following to her private “Close Friends” story. That’s around 115 million people.
Users of the social media platform can share content in their Instagram story either with everyone or only with a select group, the so-called “close friends”. A green star appears at the top right of the story.
Eilish fans are reporting on X and Tiktok and think this step by the singer is great. “Billie and I are just good friends,” writes one user on X. Another says: “I feel great. Billie is my best friend!” However, some creators were a little disappointed after they found out that all followers had been invited to Billie’s private story: “I thought I was special,” commented one fan.

Billie’s new best friends – her 115 million followers – also get to see something from the “Happier Than Ever” singer: She shares a picture of her tattoo on her hip, which was already partially visible in December 2023 when she Attended “Variety Hitmakers Brunch”. Now she presents the entire work of art: “Hard and Soft” is permanently written above her hips.

Is there a new album coming soon?
Billie Eilish recently caused a stir among her fans: There was wild speculation on social media as to whether the 22-year-old could soon release a new album. Billboards around the world were plastered with mysterious lyrics and Billie Eilish’s logo.
Although the singer’s name is not written anywhere, her well-known “Blohsh” symbol – a man with his shoulder hanging to the side – can be seen on the billboards.
Are these indications of new songs by the artist? Back in February, Eilish announced on Instagram that she had finished her new album. Her last album, “Happier Than Ever”, was released in July 2021. Most recently she made a name for herself with the song “What Was I Made For?” for the “Barbie” film Headlines, for which she and her brother and producer Finneas (26) received the Oscar for best song for the second time.
