2024 RELEASES ANNOUNCEMENT of NIPPON SHOCK EDITIONS

Here we are at the announcements for 2024 for NIPPON SHOCK EDITIONS.

MAGAZINES
As regards the magazine sector, the monograph on Lum (NSM #10) had already achieved a good level of approval and the same is happening with the one on Lady Oscar, currently on newsstands under the title NIPPON SHOCK MAGAZINE. Aware that some of the series we love, as well as the different genres to which they belong, need more space, we have decided to launch a new periodical (bimonthly or quarterly) of monographs.
You will soon have more information on the frequency, format and name with which it will appear on newsstands.
Our intention is to launch it late next spring.

MANGA
Kiss Me Licia (Ai Shite Knight) in color, by the late Kaoru Tada which we will present at the ROMICS in April with a normal version and a limited VARIANT. The first volume will certainly be released and will be followed by the other 6 on a regular quarterly basis. There will also be a hard box set which can only be pre-ordered through the Nippon Shock Edizioni website. Preorder will begin in February.

“Kyonen no Yuki”, (“Last Year’s Snow”) by Eiichi Muraoka – Small volume (Tankobon),
requested by many of you as it is particularly appreciated: this is the collection of master Muraoka’s stories, partly published in Nippon Shock Magazine (from n.1 to n.5), with the addition of some unpublished ones. In Japan the volume was published by Shonen Gaosha.
(Expected release June 2024)

Tsugumomo” di Yoshikazu Hamada – A supernatural “ecchi” series which is in its 31st volume in Japan. A true success, as only happens with the best creations, so much so that it has already enjoyed an anime transposition available on Crunchyroll. We can guarantee the quality of this story which from the tenth volume becomes something absolutely unmissable, a real “trip”, as written in some reviews of those who have already been able to read it. (Exit to be agreed).

Kodai Senshi Haniwatt” (Ancient Warrior Haniwatt) by Kenji Taketomi – An incredible science fiction “seinen” in armor, “Guyver” style so to speak, but with many elements of the Japanese prehistoric tradition (as it was for Jeeg Robot, and the title proves it), which winks at the greats Nagaian classics, and which at home has reached the 10th volume (release to be agreed).

“Soga Ichiro Taisho Kitan”, (“Ichiro Soga e il Mistero del Periodo Taisho”). With the first anniversary of the death of sensei Ippei Kuri, in the second half of 2024 we will publish the last manga finished by the master, an unpublished one worldwide (never published even in Japan), which the sensei offered us happy with the work done on Kenshiro Tsubanari and the Demon Slayer Sword. A manga in which you will be able to recognize the sensei’s classic Tatsunoko trait,
with characters who, although set in the first two decades of the 20th century, will remind you of Hurricane Polimar. An absolute honor for us at Nippon Shock Edizioni who, in this way, will celebrate the sensei and the legacy he left with his works. (Expected release October-November 2024).

THE TRUE STORY OF THE KING’S KNIGHTS by Riccardo Zara – Volume which will retrace, in addition to the life of Master Zara, also and above all the history of The Knights of the King, one of the historical groups that were involved in the creation of theme songs for Japanese animation series in our country in the 70s- ’80.
