Bola.net – U-17 Indonesian Women’s National Team suffered defeat in the first match of Group A of the 2024 U-17 Women’s Asian Cup. Against the Philippines, Garuda Pertiwi fell with a landslide score of 1-6.
The Philippines’ winning goal in this match was contributed by a brace from Alexa Pino and Natalie Collins plus one goal each from Jael-Marie Guy and Ariana Markey. Meanwhile, Indonesia was able to reduce the position thanks to Claudia Scheunemann’s goal.

The Course of the Match
Since the match started, the Philippines has appeared dominant. Only six minutes into the match, Alexa Pino was able to score the first goal in this match after Ava Villapando’s cross was headed perfectly into the Indonesian goal. Philippines leads 1-0.
Indonesia didn’t take long to equalize. Six minutes later, Claudia Scheunemann fired a rocket from outside the penalty box which hit the Philippines goal. The score is tied at 1-1.
Claudia’s goal made the Philippines even more motivated to attack. In the 22nd minute, Jael-Marie Guy broke into Indonesia’s goal with a shot in the penalty box, so that the Philippines took a 2-1 lead.
Four minutes later, it was Markey’s turn to get his name on the scoreboard, after his rocket shot flew into the right corner of the Indonesian goal. Philippines leads 3-1.
Filipino domination continues. Pino successfully scored his second goal in this match after his shot from the left side managed to enter the Indonesian goal. The score changed to 4-1 and this score remained until halftime.
In the second half, the Philippines’ dominance continued to be maintained. Natalie Collins successfully scored a goal in the 54th minute after Saludares’ measured pass was successfully converted into a goal.
The combination of Saludares and Collins was successful again in breaking through the Indonesian goal in the 62nd minute. The Philippines leads 6-1 over Indonesia.
In the remainder of the second half, the Philippines managed to maintain dominance, but the score remained 6-1 until the end of the match.
