The Gloria Theater is embarking on an artistic journey through time at the beginning of the new year. Elisabeth Engstler and Bettina Soriat as well as musical star André Bauer shine in the song drama ‘Forever Young’.

The Gloria Theater is ringing in the new year with an extraordinary production “that promises the best entertainment at the highest level,” says host Gerald Pichowetz. ‘Forever Young’ has the motto ‘I Love Rock’n’Roll!’ on view until March 3rd.

The audience is taken to the year 2060, where the former theater was converted into a retirement home for very old actors. On dusty furniture, the aged mimes reminisce about past glory days, but the head nurse brings a surprising twist with children’s songs to make them clap along.

When the supervisor leaves the room, the stage heroes’ suppressed lust for life awakens and they musically revive their great moments from long-ago stage times. With a bag of immortal hits from “I Love Rock’n’Roll”, “I Will Survive”, “Forever Young” to “Born to be Wild” they ensure a rousing spectacle. The cheerful old people present hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, accompanied by a good portion of slapstick and weird humor. The old fighting spirit has not yet died out, and even mouse-gray panthers show that they still have claws and bite!

Under the direction of Marcus Ganser and the musical direction of Herwig Gratzer (author: Erik Gedeon), the ensemble impresses with well-known artists such as Eurovision participants Elisabeth Engstler and Bettina Soriat as well as musical star André Bauer. Michelle Härle, Herwig Gratzer, Alfred Pfeifer and Benjamin Slamanig are convincing in the other roles.
