Taiwan’s 5,108 new local cases shorten the interval to 3 days
Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, April 25 (Xinhua) — The number of new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Taiwan has exceeded 5,000 for two consecutive days. The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced that from the 26th, the home quarantine of close contacts will be adjusted from “10+7” to “3+4” mode, that is, 3-day home quarantine and 4-day self-prevention.
The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced on the 25th that there were 5,221 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, including 5,108 local cases and 113 imported cases. The new local cases on that day ranged in age from under 5 years old to more than 90 years old, and the onset dates ranged from March 28 to April 24 this year, of which 2,982 were asymptomatic infections.
The command center stated that the “key epidemic investigation” will be implemented from now on, and electronic management will be implemented and the scope of the list will be narrowed. During the self-prevention period after isolation, if the quick screening result is negative every day, you can go out to work or buy daily necessities. Those who have been separated for more than 3 days will be released from quarantine on the 27th.
Up to now, about 87,000 people in Taiwan have been quarantined. In addition, the command center announced that it will no longer publish the footprints of confirmed cases from now on.
According to statistics, as of now, a total of 61,686 cases of new coronary pneumonia have been diagnosed in Taiwan, including 51,170 local cases.
