The intervention was led by the team of the hospital’s head of cardiology in Ćento, Bjađa Sasoniaand he pointed out that 106-year-old Aide Borgati is “extremely aware” and “intact mental state”.
”Her lively mind and clarity of thought and memory are truly impressive. During the operation, we talked about the beginning of her life in 1918, during the First World War. For me it was like opening a history book, since I am a lover of Italian history of the 20th century,” said Doctor Sasone.
He added that, although he had worked with much older patients before, those at the age of 107 are rarer, and Sasone and Borgati said goodbye with the hope of seeing each other in 10 years for a pacemaker replacement, reports Tanjug.
