A man has probably been lying in the forest for more than two years

Above a hiking trail on the south side of Lake Grundlsee, a forester found a completely skeletonized corpse around nine o’clock on Monday. There was a long gun next to it. Police officers from the inspection in Bad Aussee and search specialists from the Styrian State Criminal Police Office have started the investigation.

The autopsy showed that the man had been lying there for more than two years. During his lifetime he is said to have been around 1.65 to 1.75 meters tall and more than 30 years old. The identity has not yet been determined and, according to the police, there are no suitable missing reports. “Investigation specialists are looking all over Austria using automation, but they haven’t found anything yet,” says police spokesman Reinhard Gartner.

The police are asking for information from the public on Tel. 059 133 6351-0 (Bad Aussee Police Station) or 059 133 60-3333 (Journal Service Styria State Criminal Police Office): “Maybe someone has seen something or remembers something.”

Rumors about Friedrich Felzmann

The police cannot confirm rumors that the body could be that of the suspected double murderer Friedrich Felzmann from Stiwoll (Graz-surroundings district). “So far the investigations do not indicate this, but this is the status quo,” says Gartner. He doesn’t want to say any more about it.

Felzmann, who would be 73 years old today, is said to have shot two neighbors in 2017 and then fled. He has been wanted for more than six years, and the Federal Criminal Police Office has offered a reward of 5,000 euros for information.
