The Course of the Match
The first shot in this match came in the ninth minute through Giovanni Simeone from the Napoli camp. However, the ball could not reach the goal.
The game slowly opens up. Napoli and Milan took turns pressing each other, but it was still difficult to get a shot off.
Milan managed to lead 1-0 in the 25th minute. Theo Hernandez suddenly appeared to meet Rafael Leao’s pass and put the ball into Napoli’s goal.
Milan started to threaten Napoli more after that goal. There were shots from Leao and Matteo Gabbia which Pierluigi Gollini was still able to block.
There were no additional goals until halftime. Milan also led 1-0 in the first half.
Milan almost increased their lead when the second half had only been running for two minutes. From close range Olivier Giroud fired, but Gollini was able to block the ball.
Napoli launched several quick attacks on Milan’s defense. However, the Partenopei had difficulty firing shots from inside the penalty box.
Napoli created chaos in the Milan penalty box in the 88th minute. Giovanni Di Lorenzo then fired a shot, but the ball was usually pushed over by Mike Maignan.
There were no goals during the second half. Milan also successfully maintained a 1-0 win.
