According to what we read in the note from the Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of Palermo, the 17th – investigated for multiple aggravated murder in conspiracy against her mother and brothers and for concealment of her mother’s body – she appeared last February 14, before the prosecutor Claudia Caramanna to clarify her role in the triple murder of her mother and two brothers 16 and 5 years old. Before the prosecutorthe girl “he began to make a spontaneous story, revealing his full involvement in very serious eventswhich involved his family”, which occurred in Altavilla Milicia, in the Palermo area.
“The physical torture began in the last week when the children no longer went to school. The mother was killed first, perhaps, because she would have opposed the torture of her children”, said prosecutor Cartosio.
Then he added: “It’s a terrible tragedy, when we found ourselves there it was heartbreaking. Seeing the bodies in those conditions was a tragedy. There is no reason to emphasize what happened. The father is a person who for years has been experiencing a mystical delirium dominated by fanatical religiosity. Which weighs heavily on the children.”
For the killing of his wife and two children, the bricklayer, father and husband of the victims, is also in prison a couple from Palermo Sabrina Fina and Massimo Carandente. On the investigation front, during the press conference, confirmation also arrived that the two Palermo spouses “were present in the house in Altavilla at the time of the murder”.
“We still don’t have the results of the autopsy and therefore we don’t yet know how Antonella Salamone and her children Kevin and Emanuel died – said Cartosio’s prosecutor – However, we can say that the death was caused by behaviors carried out by Giovanni Barreca and by the two spouses from Palermo who worked inside that house for days”.

During the press conference held by the Termini Imerese Prosecutor’s Office, other gruesome details emerged about the days preceding the Altavilla Milicia massacre.
“The collective ritual had begun a month ago and involved the entire Barreca family, Massimo Carandente and Sabrina Fina, the couple who allegedly participated in the massacre. They were all prey to a mystical delirium“, said the Prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio. The victims – Giovanni Barreca’s wife and two children – and the murderers, Barreca himself and the two accomplices, therefore, had begun a sort of purification rite from the devil a month ago, which then culminated in murders.
It is not excluded thatin addition to the accomplice couple, there could be other subjects, Cartosio underlined again. “If there are other subjects and scenarios behind the protagonists of this story? Perhaps yes, we will try to understand it and we hope to have the support of the other judicial offices and other institutions to ascertain it”.
