Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, who is also the Chair of the Job Creation Committee, said that the Pre-Employment Card program is targeted to provide training to 1.14 million participants this year.

“On February 23 2024, a new wave of Pre-Employment recipients, namely Batch 63, was opened, with a target of 1.14 million participants throughout 2024. This quota will be executed in stages by the Implementing Management of the Pre-Employment Card Program (MPPKP),” said Airlangga Hartarto in Jakarta, Friday .

According to him, the Pre-Employment Card program needs to be implemented again this year because it has proven to be beneficial for people in improving their abilities and getting jobs.

He said that a Definitive study from ADB showed that the impact of participation in the Pre-Employment Card program on increasing employment opportunities reached 95 percent.

Meanwhile, an Indonesian Precision Research study revealed that there was an increase in the income of Pre-Employment Card beneficiaries by 17-21 percent per month compared to non-recipients.

Regarding the implementation of the Pre-Employment Card this year, Airlangga stated that the program would be expanded so that it could reach more communities in remote and disadvantaged areas and encourage the involvement of training institutions in more districts and cities.

Apart from that, he said that the quality of training would also be improved by adding independent learning modes or Self-Paced Learning (SPL) which can provide flexibility, but also requires higher personal commitment from participants.

He hopes for the opportunity to upskilling and reskilling through the Pre-Employment Card program, it can be used as well as possible by the community.

Airlangga also said that his party would try to collaborate with more parties, especially ministries/institutions (K/L), to provide various quality training that is relevant to the needs of the job market.

He also invited various companies that had corporate university to help build the Pre-Employment Card ecosystem.

“Let’s collaborate to improve the quality of our workforce,” he said.
