After the footage is reviewed and the evidence is analyzed, it remains to be seen if Stewart will have to stay in jail for the attack on Eubanks.

American basketball player Isaiah Stewart (22, 203 cm) was arrested after the game between Phoenix and Detroit (116:100). The reason Stuart ended up in the police force was a fight with Drum Jubanks (27, 208 cm) before the NBA game itself, when the two had a physical confrontation in front of the other players.
For now, it is not known what preceded the incident, but it is known that Stewart and Eubanks got in each other’s faces, so that after that the first mentioned punched the opponent in the face. The police had to separate the basketball players, and Jubanks received a minor facial injury despite which he was able to play and finished the match with six points and six rebounds. As for Stewart, he was “inactive” and it is understood he was taken to the police over the incident.
According to Phoenix’s spokesperson, the attack on Eubanks was “unprovoked,” meaning Stewart hit him for no reason. Phoenix stood by his basketball player and condemned the violence, calling on the police and the NBA to fully investigate this case, while the other side of the story is still awaited – the Detroit basketball player.
“I think it’s irresponsible of them to make any statements when they don’t know what happened”said Detroit coach Monty Williams, who led Phoenix until this summer: “Until we know everything, we cannot make any statements on this topic.”
Detroit drafted Isaiah Stewart as the 16th pick in the 2020 draft and this season he is one of the better players on the NBA’s worst team. He averages 11 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists. On the other hand, Jubanks was not selected in the draft after his performance at Oregon, but Gregg Popovich gave him a chance in 2018 and he did not regret it. He spent four seasons with the Spurs, then played for Portland, while he has been in Phoenix since the summer.
