Al-Hilal are getting closer and closer to the world record for consecutive victories. This Friday (1), the team led by coach Jorge Jesus won the derby against Al-Ittihad, 3-1, reaching their 25th consecutive victory and is now two steps away from reaching the historic mark. N’Golo Kanté opened the scoring for the visitors, while Saleh, Malcom and Abdulhamid scored the goals for the home team at the Kingdom Arena, in the 22nd round of the Saudi Championship.
Al-Ittihad’s main casualty was Karim Benzema. On the other hand, coach Jorge Jesus used Brazilians Renan Lodi, Malcom and Michael among the starters.
Thus, Al-Hilal reached 62 points and managed to increase their advantage at the top of the Saudi Championship. At the same time, the team counted on the stumble of Al-Nassr, who ended up in a 4-4 draw with bottom side Al-Hazem, and opened a nine-point gap to their rival. On the other hand, Al-Ittihad remains in 5th place, with 37 points, and is fighting to get closer to the top of the table.
