Everything happened to América de Cali this Thursday at Pascual Guerrero: they lost to Equidad, in a match on date 8 of the BetPlay I League, despite giving themselves and fighting for a better result at home.
The scarlet team, led by Venezuelan César Farías, entered into a crisis of results, as it completed four games without winning.
The first half was difficult for the scarlet fan, as Equidad had more controlled football than the local team. Thus, he took the lead on the scoreboard in the 35th minute, thanks to Kevin Viveros’ goal.
In the second half, the night came for América: at 53′ they were saved from Equidad increasing the lead, as the VAR annulled Johan Rojas’ goal play. However, in the 55th minute Jáder Quiñones was sent off, leaving the scarlet team with ten players.
America entered into despair, and from the stands the fans showed their annoyance; especially Edwin Cardona was whistled, in several plays, and also when he was substituted.
The local’s drive was noticeable, although with more desire than ideas. At minute 73, Yohan Garcés saw the red card and América was left with nine.
The incredible thing was that América did more and even deserved the draw against an Equidad that had its full XI.
Likewise, America could not avoid hell and lost at home. They exploded from the Pascual stands, since there is already a crisis of results.
