Anita Bhatia: “A Gender New Deal for Women’s Work”

The pandemic has delved into gender differences, exacerbating inequalities and tensions that risk taking us back years in the conquests made for women’s emancipation. And above all to weaken the efforts of governments for post-Covid reconstruction: for this we need a “New Deal of gender”, says Anita Bhatia, who after a long career in diplomacy and finance – was at the top of the World Bank – in May in 2019 she became deputy secretary of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and deputy executive director of UN Women, the UN group that deals with empowerment female.
