REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SLEMAN — The congregation at the Aolia Mosque, Giriharjo, Gunungkidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) had already carried out the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H prayer on Friday morning (5/4/2024).
The Eid al-Fitr prayers for the Aolia Mosque congregation were held at a number of points in Giriharjo. A number of points held Eid al-Fitr prayers, namely the Aolia Mosque and the residence of the Leader of the Aolia Mosque Congregation, Raden Ibnu Hajar Pranolo, in Panggang III Hamlet, Giriharjo.
Congregants began to fill the place where Eid al-Fitr prayers were held at 06.00 WIB. Eid al-Fitr prayers were held at 07.00 WIB.
Imam Aolia Congregation Raden Ibnu Hajar Pranolo alias Grandma Benu said the entire Aolia Mosque congregation had performed Eid prayers today. He claims that the number of his followers is spread across a number of provinces, starting from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, and even abroad.
He said that the determination of 1 Shawwal was based on his belief, where the 30th night of Ramadan falls on Thursday (4/4/2024). Mbah Benu said that this year’s Eid al-Fitr has the meaning of maintaining harmony, unity and oneness.
“Be harmonious with each other, maintain unity and solidarity with everyone. Don’t easily blame and justify people,” he said.
The head of Panggang III Hamlet, Agung Setiawan, revealed that there are around 190 families out of a total of 244 families who are members of the Aolia Mosque congregation. “Relations with the surrounding community are good, if there are activities in the village or in the area, Mbah Kiai is very supportive, No there was friction,” he said.
Agung said that the existence of the Aolia Mosque congregation group had existed since before he was born. However, he did not explain in detail what year it was.
Not only this year, last year the Aolia Mosque congregation also held Eid al-Fitr prayers earlier, namely on April 20 2023. Meanwhile, last year the government set Eid al-Fitr on April 21-22 2023.
