When Princess Märtha Louise and Ari Behn lived in London from 2012 to 2014, they got to know the American Taro Gold (54).
Gold is, among other things, a best-selling author and tech entrepreneur.
VG has, in a large survey of Se og Hør’s press coverage of Durek Verrett and methods used in that connection, found that after Ari Behn’s death, Gold started a private investigation into Verrett.

Would warn against Durek
The investigation is said to have started after Gold, in connection with Ari Behn’s funeral, spent time with Märtha and Verrett at their home in Lommedalen. He is said to have been “very concerned” by what he saw.

Gold is therefore said to have had private investigators investigate Verrett’s past. They must have searched archives in the USA, and made contact with ex-boyfriends, business associates and acquaintances. In the end, they were left with a 124-page long report that was tried to be spread to people in and around the royal family. The aim is said to have been to warn against the controversial shaman.

In a conversation with VG, Gold suggested that the weekly Se og Hør also had its own investigation into Verrett going on. This is strongly rejected by the editor-in-chief of Se og Hør, Ulf Andre Andersen.
Märtha sent a “cease and desist” letter
A person in Märtha Louise’s circle receives the report and informs the princess. Märtha dismisses it all as lies, and sends him what Gold himself describes as a “threatening” letter.

– She used her royal title in the letters, which I thought was incredibly “tacky” and shameful. I got one of the letters. In the letter, she threatened to sue me for millions of dollars if I ever spoke publicly about her boyfriend, Gold writes in an email to VG.
He says he has now completely removed the princess from his life.
In response to Gold’s statements, Märtha Louise tells VG that the letter that was sent was an ordinary letter sent by a lawyer. A so-called “cease and desist” letter.
A “cease and desist” letter is often called a demand letter in Norwegian, and contains a demand that something must be stopped, and to refrain from resuming.
