Armand Duplantis took gold in Glasgow on Sunday, even though he was badly out in the competition. But he got over 5.85 on the third attempt, and from there it went as it should. He also took the year’s best in the world to the delight of the public.

In the pole competitions, there have been two cases of horrific injuries on the women’s side, but also several bizarre episodes.
On Friday, shot putter Roger Steen threw the shot outside the throwing sector. The ball rolled onto the running track in the middle of an ongoing 1,500-meter race. On Saturday, Carey McLeod jumped over the length pit.

Narve Gilje Nordås disappointed and finished fifth in the 1500 meters on Sunday evening. Afterwards, he raged at the organizer.
