The event is free and open to all those interested in following debates on the future of municipalities, focusing on trends in urbanism and technologies that have been used against the exclusionary design prevalent in the planning of contemporary cities.
“In most cities around the world, the infrastructure that makes them function converges towards the center. In contrast to the vitality generated by such concentrations, peripheral territories are formed increasingly distant from central regions, with social vulnerability and lack of access to urban services as their striking features. Given this scenario, the idea of new centralities is gaining strength, which are engines of technological, social, environmental and economic development capable of giving shape to a more balanced, dynamic and inclusive urban fabric”, explains Tomas Alvim, co-founder of Arq. Futuro e seminar organizer.
