Ascension Mass 2024 in Hérémence (Switzerland)

Celebrated live from the Saint-Nicolas church in Hérémence (Switzerland)
The Mass of the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated live from Hérémence (Switzerland) in the Saint-Nicolas church. Built in 1971, the Hérémence church, which the locals affectionately nickname “concrete cathedral”, is considered the little sister of the Grande Dixence dam. Built by Basel architect Walter Förderer, this brutalist-style church symbolizes the link that the Heremensards have with this dam, which brought a certain prosperity to the region.

Preacher: Canon Pierre-Yves Maillard, vicar general of the diocese of Sion
President: Monseigneur Jean-Marie Lovey, Bishop of Sion
