The room of the Treaties which preserves the founding texts of the European Union within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will now bear the name of David Sassoli, the president of the European Parliament who died on 11 January due to a complication to a dysfunction of the immune system.

“A way for the Farnesina to participate in the collective memory, associating its name with the place that holds the main legal sources in the European integration process”, said the secretary general of the Farnesina, Ettore Sequi, opening the naming ceremony with the presidents of the House and Senate and the family members of the former president of the European Parliament.
