On Friday, among others, Nettavisen reported that the clubs had agreed on the financial aspects of a transfer for Mikkelsen. The offensive midfielder traveled from Stockholm on Saturday morning, and was photographed a few hours later when he arrived at the airport in Bodø.

Now he also agrees with Glimt about the personal conditions.

– Looking forward to

– It feels very good to be here. I just feel that I can’t wait to get started, start training and meet the boys, says Mikkelsen to Glimt’s website.

– It has been instructive in Sweden. I have had many cool experiences, and am grateful for the time I have had in Hammarby. So I would say that I have grown an incredible amount in that time. Both on and off the field, so I certainly feel that I have made progress as a footballer, and more than that, he adds.

The former Tromsø player went to Hammarby ahead of last season. There it was with two goals in 26 games before he is back in Norwegian football.

«Reunion»

Mikkelsen is reunited with several players from his time in Tromsø in Bodø/Glimt, and reveals that he has spoken to several of them before he made the decision to sign for Glimt.

– I have spoken to them quite a bit, and heard a lot of positive things about the club. That is perhaps what I was looking for, what they have in Glimt in terms of structure and training culture. Then there is no hiding the fact that Glimt is at such a high level, perhaps the best team in Scandinavia, so it is cool and great to be able to play at such a high level, says Mikkelsen.

He says he has felt very welcome at Aspmyra.

– It has been an important factor to feel so wanted by the club and the coaching staff. I feel it was a very good match and a good time for me to take the step that I am doing now. I know it’s going to be good. As I said, I’m just ready to get started, says the attacking player.

Earlier this winter, Glimt strengthened itself with several high-profile players. Both Håkon Evjen, Jens Petter Hauge and Jostein Gundersen have joined those in yellow.
