(LaPresse) The emergency has arisen in the State of Victoria, Australia, due to the heavy floods that hit the territory. Local officials ordered hundreds of residents to evacuate and leave their homes. The towns of Seymour and Yea, about 112 km north of Melbourne, were especially seriously affected. So far, 38 people have been rescued and authorities have responded to nearly a thousand calls for help. Rainfall is expected to continue in north-east Victoria exceeding 200 millimeters of water.
