With Michael Wimmer, his assistant coach Ahmet Koc will also be released. Talent coach Christoph Glatzer will support Christian Wegleitner as an assistant coach at the end of the season.

Sports director Jürgen Werner: “Based on the developments in the last few games, we came to the conclusion that the team needs new impetus in order to achieve our season goal in the playoffs. We have full confidence in Christian Wegleitner. He knows our team and has already proven his qualities as head coach at our cooperation club SV Stripfing. We would like to thank Michi Wimmer for his tireless commitment to Austria Vienna. Laying off a coach is always difficult, especially with Michi Wimmer because we had a good relationship and his character is absolutely top notch. We wish him all the best for his future.”

Interim coach Christian Wegleitner: “Our full focus is on preparing ourselves as best as possible for the next game in Linz. We don’t have much time, we’re looking forward and will do everything we can to play the next two games positively. Our goal is to give our fans two additional playoff games through positive results.”

>>> Sports director Jürgen Werner and interim coach Christian Wegleitner will be available to answer questions from media representatives at a press conference on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Viola TV will broadcast the PK live as usual.

On behalf of the entire Austria family, we wish Michi Wimmer & Ahmet Koc all the best for their future!
