Azhiera Adzka Fathir, Kurnia Meiga’s ex-wife, has opened her voice regarding the reasons for her divorce from the footballer in early 2023.
According to Azhiera, there were several factors behind his separation from Kurnia Meiga. However, economic factors are not one of the reasons.
The woman who is familiarly called Azizah said that one of Kurnia Meiga’s fatal mistakes that made her sue for divorce was when the footballer was busy drinking when she was 6 months pregnant in 2022.
Kurnia Meiga’s actions made her father-in-law, who is also Azizah’s biological father, very angry.
“Usually, he drinks with his friends only until 3 in the morning. But last time, he drank until 7 in the morning and was caught by his father,” said Azhiera Adzka Fathir on the YouTube channel CURHAT BANG Denny Sumargo.
“Papa took Ega inside the house, he was angry. ‘Don’t you feel sorry for your wife inside? She’s very pregnant, you know’,” he continued.
Worse yet, at that time Kurnia Meiga was already sick. The attitude of the former Indonesian National Team goalkeeper made his in-laws feel that their efforts to treat their son-in-law were in vain.
“‘You are already sick, I pray for you every day, but you have invited the devil here’. Papa is so in love with Ega, that he wants to sell his personal GOR for IDR 40 billion to cure Ega. So it’s surprising, it’s natural for parents to be angry ,” he continued.
Azizah’s father’s disappointment then made him throw Kurnia Meiga out of the house. Since then, the Indonesian national team goalkeeper has never returned.
In fact, Kurnia Meiga did not apologize for hurting her in-laws through her habit of drinking.
“I mean, I’m sorry, the position was wrong. I wanted to accompany him to apologize. But he still didn’t want to and left and didn’t come back,” he said firmly.
Apart from the issue of drinking, Azizah admitted long ago that she harbored a lot of hurt over Kurnia Meiga’s behavior. Azizah has experienced everything from domestic violence to infidelity.
“Yes, I finally thought, there’s nothing to hope for anymore,” he said.
Until finally, Azizah and Kurnia Meiga were officially declared divorced in 2022 at the Depok Religious Court, West Java in verstek.
Until this news was published, Kurnia Meiga had not provided any clarification regarding Azizah’s words regarding their divorce.
