With the result, Xavi’s team reached the 13º game of invincibility and continues the hunt for the leader Real Madrid. Eight points separate rivals.
At the other end of the table, Cádiz remains in the relegation zone, in 18º place.
Now, Barça turns its attention to the second leg of the quarter-finals of Champions League against PSG on Tuesday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at home. In the first leg, the Spanish won 3-2 at Parque dos Príncipes.
The game
Even with a mixed team, with an eye on the Champions League in midweek, Barcelona were superior for much of the 90 minutes.
In the 1st half, Barça opened the scoring with a great goal from João Félix, at 35. In the move, the Portuguese striker completed a cross with a spectacular half bicycle, with no chance for goalkeeper Ledesma.
After that, the Catalan team continued on top and could have gone into the break with an even greater lead, but Cádiz’s defense saved a shot from Fermín López on the line.
In the 2nd half, the script was repeated. Without giving the home team a chance to react, Xavi’s team exchanged passes and continued wasting opportunities. At 16, Vitor Roque left the field for Lamine Yamal to enter due to a technical option.
In the final stretch, Cádiz grew and scared the blaugranas. At 33, Samassékou just didn’t leave everything the same, because Ter Stegen stretched himself to make a great save.
