Missing for several days in Bas-Rhin, Alexandre Dousseau was found dead this Saturday January 27.
The discovery of the body of 43 year old firefighter took place in the morning during a new hunt.
Missing since Tuesday January 23, 2024
Professional firefighter in Strasbourg and volunteer in Bischoffsheim (Bas-Rhin), Alexandre Dousseau had missing since Tuesday January 23, 2024.
That day, he left “his family home without his personal vehicle, from the town of Bischoffsheim”, indicated the Bas-Rhin gendarmerie in a call for witnesses to try to find him. A gendarmerie document relates that shortly before, he had sent “a message to his wife and his two daughters aged 11 and 14 indicating possible suicidal intentions« .
Significant means deployed to find him
As soon as his disappearance was announced, field research took place to find him. Despite the use of a dog, the use of a drone with a thermal camera or the use of a helicopter, Alexandre Dousseau remained nowhere to be found.
The following days, citizen raids took place around the town of Bischoffsheim until the macabre discovery this morning.
The tribute of his colleagues
As soon as his death was announced, several tributes were paid to him. The Bas-Rhin Fire and Rescue Service (SIS 67) presents its “sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues”.

In a message on social networks, the Amicale des Sapeurs Pompiers de Bischoffsheim, where Alexandre Dousseau was a volunteer, shared his “great sadness” : “We would like to sincerely thank all the people who joined forces with us for the various research, your words of comfort, your involvement, your actions to help us, directly or indirectly.”
