The first semi-final of the Italian Cup of basketball crowns theEa7 Emporio Armani Milan, which dominates a race without history. There Reyer Venice, after making the very first push of the match, was overwhelmed and closed at -23 halfway through the match, failing to recover and reopen the games. Olimpia wins 100-77, reaching the final with an absolute driving force: Shavon Shields finishes with 28 points and six triples, ahead of Napier (17).

Olimpia Milano dominates and wins the final of the Italian Cup, overwhelming Reyer Venezia and giving itself the chance to win the first title of the season:
Messina and his team passed the semifinal with a score of 100-77. The first ring at the InAlpi Arena goes to Reyer, who flies to 7-6 with Tessitori’s free throws, but then Armani turns on: the Milanese team takes advantage of Shields’ triple and Melli-Napier’s newfound verve to fly to the 15-8 and never looks back. Mirotic and Flaccadori further extend the lead for Olimpia, who close the first quarter at 31-20 with Tonut’s triple. Olimpia’s domination is total in the first minutes of the second period, which sees Shields and his teammates fly to +20: Venezia scores only after four minutes, but is unable to counter the excessive power of the opponent.

The third quarter is that of the comeback attempt carried out by Reyer Venezia, which begins by rediscovering the effectiveness of Simms and Spissu: the latter stop the initial 9-0 and only Shields revives Olimpia, bringing it back to +16. Hall and Flaccadori do the rest, periodically pushing their rivals back with baskets: it’s 74-58 before the final period. Wiltjer and Kabengele try to give Umana another hope, but Voigtmann responds with triples and Napier is impregnable: they are the ones who bring Armani back to +20 and close the game. From here on Olimpia plays only to re-establish the half-match margin and succeeds, closing at 100-77 and +23. Messina and his team are the first finalists in the Italian Cup: Shields scored 28 points in half an hour, with six triples, ahead of Napier (17). Kabengele (18), Tucker (15) and Spissu (14) are not enough for Reyer.
