Bayern controlled the game from the start, but initially relied on a controlled offensive. Leroy Sané recorded the first shot, but after six minutes he aimed straight at Ivan Provedel. Eight minutes later, Lazio’s keeper defused a long-range shot from Jamal Musiala, before a deflected shot from Harry Kane whizzed just past the right of the goal in the 17th minute.
The game then slowed down a bit before Bayern took the lead after 38 minutes: after a fine move via Aleksandar Pavlović, Thomas Müller and Raphaël Guerreiro, Kane headed in to take the lead. Provedel was still there, but couldn’t prevent the impact.
After Musiala narrowly missed making it 2-0 just a minute later, the bell rang for the second time in the second minute of added time. After a corner, Matthijs de Ligt shot at the far post, which Müller headed into the goal.
At the start of the second half, Bayern took things a little easier before Kane made it 3-0 in the 66th minute after Provedel failed to adequately clear a shot from Musiala. Five minutes later, Müller was unlucky with a shot off the post before Sané shot just wide to the left.
