Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has said he will run again in the 2025 presidential elections: he announced it at a polling station after voting in the parliamentary and administrative elections taking place in Belarus. Elections in the country have not been free for thirty years, and on several occasions have been characterized by serious fraud in favor of Lukashenko. Although he is now deeply unpopular, Lukashenko has been in power continuously since 1994 and especially in recent years he has transformed Belarus into a police state, where thousands of political prisoners are in prison and where any attempt at free expression is harshly repressed.
