US, Great Britain and Australia launch a security partnership for the Indo-Pacific area to contain the Chinese threat in particular: an unprecedented three-way video link with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, US President Joe Biden and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison defined the new and joint strategies for strategic national security. The pact, called “AUKUS”, will allow Australia to acquire nuclear-powered submarines.
“Our nations will improve their ability to face the threats of the 21st century, just as we did in the 20th,” said President Joe Biden in announcing the creation of the new military partnership.
