Bitten by adder – rescue helicopter

A hiker from Vienna was bitten on the arm by an adder in Wildalpen in the Upper Styrian district of Liezen on Friday afternoon. The 63-year-old then developed health problems and was taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter.

The Viennese went on a hike with his partner to the so-called tower (1,750 meters above sea level) in the municipality of Wildalpen. The man grabbed it caught a mountain stick with his hand and was bitten.

As a result, he complained about, among other things Dizziness attacks, whereupon his girlfriend called the emergency services. The crew of the C12 rescued the man using a rope and flew him to the LKH. Twelve members of the Wildalpen mountain rescue team were also involved in the rescue.
