A quarter before the end, Håkon Evjen placed the ball in the net and gave Glimt three important points in the gold medal match.
Strømsgodset was dangerous going forward several times, but it was Kjetil Knutsen’s men who were most effective.
Nikita Haikin persevered with an incredible save in overtime and was in many ways the match winner for Glimt.
Strømsgodset made it difficult for Glimt at Aspmyra. The winning goal came with a quarter of an hour left in the game.
– It was a nice score, but the most important thing was that we got three points. But I was almost happier when Nikita (Haikin) saved at the end, said match winner Håkon Evjen to TV 2 after the match.
Gustav Valsvik had a brilliant header at the back of the box, but a great save from Haikin stopped the visitors’ chance.
– It is a tough team that is difficult to face. It was primarily important that we kept a clean sheet and got three points, Haikin told TV 2.
