Giovanni Fabbian and Freuler scored the winning goals as Bologna overtook Atalanta, but has two games in hand

At the opening of the 26th round of the Italian Championship, Bologna did its homework and beat Hellas Verona 2-0, at a packed Renato Dall’ara. Giovanni Fabbian and Freuler scored the winning goals, from a team that dominated the actions and had the tranquility to build the result. With the triumph, Rossoblù entered the G4 with 48 points, but two games less than Atalanta. The visitors remain in the relegation zone, with 20.
In the next round, Bologna visits Lazio, on March 1st, at 4:45 pm (Brasília time), at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. Hellas Verona, in turn, hosts Sassuolo, two days later, at 8:30 am (Brasília time), at Marcantonio Bentegodi0.
Domination results in a goal
In the first forty-five minutes, Bologna made their home count and dominated the offensive actions. On the other side, Verona tried to cause problems with set pieces, but lacked the strength and intensity to open the scoring. At 27, Giovanni Fabbian was in the right place at the right time in the small area. After the cross, it was up to the player to just push it into the back of the net.
Archer avoids attempts
In another good arrival from the home team, Orsolini advanced on the left side and finished low, from close range to Montipo, who took it out of the area with his foot. In the last play of the first half, Ndoye made a great individual move and hit a beautiful shot from the edge of the area. Thus, the visitors’ archer shone again.

In the final stage, Noslin dominated and released the bomb from long distance, however the ball went close to the left post. Soon after, Bologna secured the victory. Freuler received the ball in the area and hit it first time to extend the score and drive the crowd crazy.
In the final stretch of the match, Verona did not have the strength to close the gap and seek a draw. Finally, the best chance was from Thomas Henry, who finished for a great save by Lukasz Skorupski.
