This weekend the second edition of the festival was held Hurrah! pop pilgrimage, which after the change of location due to rain forecasts was forced from the Aceñas de Cabañales to the IFEZA site. The appointment with the pilgrims was at twelve noon, starting punctually with a local version group, The Musikeos, to warm up the atmosphere at the beginning of the day. Little by little the public began to arrive, after the good reception of this second event of the festival with almost the entire box office sold. The main dish of the morning was the Galicians Darling, which had raised a lot of expectation through its frontman Andrés, son of Iván Ferreiro. With a powerful and very packed sound, they came out (with the still short repertoire they have) with great enthusiasm as they felt supported by an audience that chanted in unison “A new hope”, the first hit from what will be their next first album, in addition to completing their repertoire with a couple of versions of Despistados and Zenttric. As in any good pilgrimage, there was time for food, with PigManStar (Dj) livening up those moments for the joy of the attendees, before the saint who was venerated this year and who took the baton from David Bowie was taken out in procession: Raffaella Carrà.

Afternoon concerts resumed with locals Titis Twisterwho presented the songs from their recent album “The famous stories of the Grima Sisters” (24) with their sound close to garage-punk-pop with an old flavor, surprising those who did not yet know them. Near the halfway point of the festival they went out to play Melifluo, a group that knew they had the pilgrims won over and brought out their artillery from the first minute and without leaving any of their best-known songs behind. They ended with a general ovation, in addition to the good concert, for the joy of seeing Jaime Gandía again on stage after the accident suffered by Supersubmarina almost eight years ago. With the venue already full, the Sevillians jumped onto the stage Pony Bravo, with the intention of displaying his particular psychedelia-funk style. His faithful gathered in the front row and did not stop singing his songs, reaching a total communion with “God’s rave.”

When it was beginning to get dark, Bizarre Love Triangle, in a newly released trio format, focused on a repertoire that featured the best songs from their discography, for the enjoyment of the audience who did not stop jumping throughout the hour-long concert. Although the sound of the venue was not all bad, they sounded particularly good, accustomed to their distortions and guitars being difficult to equalize. They highlighted songs such as “Lonely Star”, “Burnt Boat” or “From Monarchy to Cryptocracy”, with which they ended. With the atmosphere more than heated, it was the turn of the Galicians too. Great love, who brought with them the reputation of being incendiaries and agitators due to their intensity on stage. They did not disappoint, ensuring that the vast majority of the audience spent the entire concert entangled in a trance motivated by the trio with their mix of synthesizers, guitars and drum machines. Proof of this was when “Esa pena que aveces teño” played, in which the audience formed a “pogo” during the entire song, unleashing their most animalistic instincts. The group, very communicative with the audience, appreciated so much involvement and left the stage satisfied with the work done.

The day of the “pilgrimage” ended with the participants wanting to see the group that closed the celebration. They came out through the fog of the stage Leon Benavente (in the photo), with the energy that characterizes their performances, on this tour celebrating ten years since its premiere. After an initial drum set that included “Estado provisional”, “Amo” or “La ribera”. The group remembered their previous performance in the city and regretted not having been able to hold the festival in its original location. After that, there was no rest, until the final stretch in which, by surprise, Nuno Pico, singer of Great love, to sing “Gloria” in a duet with Abraham Boba, one in Spanish and the other in Galician, leaving an indelible memory. With the last chords of “Ayer salí”, the concert ended, putting an end to the pilgrimage day, with a balance of absolute success, despite the difficulties due to the weather, but with the entire parish satisfied, wishing for the consolidation of the event and to see Who will be next year’s honoree? Hip-hip-Hooray!!
