The “Safety on The Road” project was born from the common aim of Bridgestone and the Italian Red Cross to halve the victims of road accidents by 2030, in accordance with the objectives set by the United Nations. According to ACI-Istat data, at an Italian level, road accidents with injuries to people in 2022 were 165,889 (+9.2% on 2021), which caused 3,159 deaths (+9.9% on 2021) and 223,475 injuries ( +9.2% on 2021). In Lazio alone, again during 2022, there were 20,275 road accidents (+15.9% on 2021), placing the region in 2nd place in Italy. But if you compare the data with the population, the region is in 4th place with 354.4 accidents per 100 thousand residents. At provincial level, Rome is first both in terms of number of accidents (16,369) and in relation to population (387.2 accidents per 100 thousand residents).
