Inter Milan beat AS Roma 4-2 in the Italian League continued this season. This victory makes them even more comfortable at the top of the standings.
Playing at the Olimpico, Sunday (11/2/2024) early morning WIB, Inter opened the scoring through Francesco Acerbi’s header in the 17th minute, but Roma closed the first half with a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Gianluca Mancini (28′) and Stephan El Shaarawy (44′).
In the second half, Inter recovered and scored three goals to seal the win. Marcus Thuram equalized the score in the 49th minute, followed by Angelino’s own goal in the 56th minute and Alessandro Bastoni’s shot in the 90+3 minute.

The additional three points kept Inter away from chasing Juventus who were trailing in second place. Now the Nerazzurri have collected 60 points from 23 matches, seven points ahead of the Bianconeri. Meanwhile, Roma is in fifth place with 38 points from 24 matches.

The course of the match
Inter took the lead in the 17th minute. Acerbi’s header from a corner kick dived into the right corner of the Roma goal which was guarded by Rui Patricio.
However, Roma managed to equalize the score in the 28th minute. Mancini headed Lorenzo Pellegrini’s free kick into the right corner of Inter’s goal without Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer being able to block it.
Roma then turned ahead in the 44th minute. Through a counter-attack, Pellegrini sent a pass to El Shaarawy who was moving on the left side. The Egyptian striker dribbled the ball into the penalty box before firing a shot into the left corner to beat Sommer.
In the second half, Inter immediately appeared to press and equalized the score in the 49th minute. Nicolo Barella’s breakthrough pass to Matteo Darmian was then continued with a cross towards Thuram. Calmly, the French striker outwits Rui Patricio.
Inter then took the lead again in the 56th minute. Angelino tried to block Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross from the left, but the Spanish defender’s sweep went into his own net. The score is 3-2 for the Nerazzurri.
Roma tried to equalize the score, but Romelu Lukaku’s header from close range in the 71st minute deviated to the right side of the goal, while Tommaso Baldanzi’s left-footed shot six minutes later was also unable to break Sommer’s goal.
Inter actually managed to add a goal in second half injury time through Bastoni after completing Marko Arnautovic’s cross in a counter-attack situation. The score 4-2 closed this match.
