Everything has consequences: Broken Roads will be released on April 10, 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. But what is the RPG about?
About Broken Roads
Similar to Fallout, this is a post-apocalyptic RPG and Broken Roads is set in the Australian outback. It attempts to combine the classic isometric Fallout gameplay style with a morality system very similar to Disco Elysium’s personality mechanics. The game will be available on all platforms at the same time, and that is also something nice. The latest trailer highlights the key features of the post-apocalyptic RPG. For many fans, one of the best parts of the game is the top-down view. So few modern RPGs utilize this perspective, but it’s nostalgic and brings back memories of playing classic titles that defined the genre. See for yourself!
The art of Broken Road is hand-drawn and portrays an authentic Australian outback, but a version of it if the world had been destroyed by nuclear war. Here people are desperate to survive and will do anything to gain an advantage. But what immediately stands out is the game’s own moral system. The moral compass shows us where one’s choices lie across four major philosophical leanings, and our character will change depending on how many choices we make for one or the other. This means that in the future you will have fewer (or no) decision-making options for the other alignments. That sounds really cool!
