Alpine Ski World Cup Final Women: Live Ticker – Super G

10:45

Ester Ledecká wins the World Cup dress rehearsal in Saalbach

The Czech showed another great performance in the last Super G of the season and took victory at the World Cup dress rehearsal in Saalbach. She wins ahead of the Italian Federica Brignone (+0:28 seconds) and the Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (+0:30).

10:43

Jasmina Suter (SUI)

The last starter is on the track. She also lacks a little aggressiveness and is already more than three tenths behind at the first split. She also loses more and more and crosses the finish line in 19th place, 1:70 seconds behind.

10:40

Michelle Gisin (SUI)

Now there are only two Swiss women left at the top. Both would have to sit between Brignone and Gut-Behrami for the Italian to secure the red jersey. The Swiss can keep up at the top and is only four hundredths behind the Czech. But then she isn’t so close to the goals either and loses almost two tenths. By the third split she gains another two tenths and then misses the wave a little. In the end she is in 13th place, 1:03 seconds behind. This means that the crystal ball can no longer be taken away from Gut-Behrami.

10:39

Elvedina Muzaferia (BiH)

Elvedina Muzaferija had a great season. The Bosnians then make an inside skiing mistake after the jump and slip. Elvedina Muzaferija is also eliminated.

10:36

Ariane Rädler (AUT)

The last Austrian is on the track. At the top she is at the same time as the Czech, but then Ariane Rädler loses three tenths in the middle section. She is a bit far away from the gates and gets another 85 hundredths on top by the third intermediate time. By the time she reached the finish, she had gained another three hundredths and, with her slightly passive driving style, she finished tenth.

10:34

Alice Robinson (NZL)

Five athletes are still up there. Gut-Behrami is currently still leading the Super G rankings. A few more athletes would have to get between Brignone and the Swiss. What does the New Zealander do now? She also gets into the race well with the jump and is only three hundredths behind the Czech. But then it stands slightly sideways and loses more than a second by the third section. At the finish she finished 15th, 1:66 seconds behind.

10:32

Christina Ager (AUT)

The next Austrian is on the track. Ager gets off to a good start and sets the new best time in the first intermediate time. But after that she loses a lot and is no longer as punctual or direct at the gates. But by the third split she lost another seven tenths and ended up finishing 14th, 1:26 seconds behind.

10:29

Federica Brignone (ITA)

The Italian blossomed again, especially in the last races. Can Federica Brignone now challenge Gut-Behrami for the red jersey. She is always very close to the goals, but then loses another three tenths by the third split. In the final part she catches up a bit and in the end she takes second place, 28 hundredths behind.

10:27

Ragnhild Mowinckel (NOR)

The last Super G race for the Norwegian in her career is coming up. Ragnhild Mowinckel is a little late at the top shortly after the jump, but after that she is well in a lower position and only loses two tenths to the Czech. In the last section she gained another 30 hundredths and was only seventh.

10:25

Stephanie Venier (AUT)

The Tyrolean won in Crans Montana and is now one of the fastest athletes in the first intermediate time. She runs a solid race and hardly loses anything to the Czech in the last section. She is still 35 hundredths short of the finish. This is third place for Stephanie Venier.

10:23

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR)

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie doesn’t go into the goals quite as aggressively and is already 36 hundredths behind at the second intermediate time. On the steep slope she gains another few hundredths and takes second place with 30 hundredths. This means that Hütter can no longer win the crystal ball in the Super G.

10:21

Cornelia Hütter (AUT)

What is the second place doing in the Super G? She is 69 points behind in the rankings. The start was good, but then she drove a little too hard in the second section and was almost two tenths behind. On the third section she hardly loses anything. In the final section she is too close to the goal and loses her glove. In the end she is 43 hundredths behind the leader.

10:19

Romane Miradoli (FRA)

The waves at the top are not ideal for the Frenchwoman either. She is not so direct at the gates and a little early at the gates. Then she also moves her outside ski slightly away and so she finishes sixth, 98 hundredths behind.

10:17

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)

Now it’s about the red jersey in the Super G. Right at the beginning she sets the new best time in the first intermediate time. In the second section she loses a little and can no longer catch up with the Czech. She lost another few hundredths on the steep slope and finished third, 52 hundredths behind.

10:15

Ester Ledecka (CZE)

The Czech jumps very far in the Ulli Maier jump and then has to take a long way to reach the double goal. Nevertheless, she only loses six hundredths to the German. In the third section she continues to make up time on Weidle and is now very close to the gates and crosses the finish line first with a time of 1:15:94 minutes. Ester Ledecká has a lead of 45 hundredths.

10:13

Marta Bassino (ITA)

The next Italian has started. Marta Bassino was behind Weidle from the start, but then caught up well with the German in the final part. In the end, the Italian was three tenths behind the leader. She is second.

10:11

Mirjam Puchner (AUT)

The Austrian is on track. Puchner doesn’t get off to a good start, but catches up a bit after the jump and leads by 14 hundredths at the second intermediate time. Afterwards it stands slightly sideways and therefore loses seven tenths. In the end, the ÖSV athlete is fourth.

10:09

Lauren Macuga (USA)

Lauren Macuga had a good season. She qualified for the World Cup final in her first World Cup season. She’s not quite as direct at the goals and has already lost more than five tenths by the third split. She then gained almost another two tenths and finished fourth, 71 hundredths behind.

10:07

Kira Weidle (GER)

What is the only German doing now? She also looked at the jump during the inspection and is doing much better than the first two runners. At the second split she is level with Pirovano. Then she actively goes into the goals and gets another 38 hundredths on the last steep section and pushes the Italian out of the leaders box.

10:04

Laura Pirovano (ITA)

After the two poles were anchored again in the snow, the second Italian also started. Laura Pirovano caught the Ulli Maier jump better and extended her lead to 89 hundredths. She then loses a little on the third section and ends up finishing first, 84 hundredths ahead.

10:03

Laura Gauche (FRA)

The second starter is on the track and Laura Gauche has slight problems with her foot. She too is surprised after the jump, falls and is eliminated. The Frenchwoman doesn’t seem to have been injured.

10:02

Roberta Melesi (ITA)

The first starter Roberta Melesi started. She achieved her best World Cup result with sixth place in Zauchensee. After the jump she is a little surprised by the speed and is not in a direct line. The Italian sets the first best time with 1:17.61 minutes.

09:55

Swiss trio

Three Swiss women will be competing in the World Cup finals in Saalbach. Lara Gut-Behrami (start number nine) has the best chance of winning. Michelle Gisin (20) and Jasmina Suter (21) are also starting.

09:50

Five Austrians there

In addition to the runner-up in the Super-G World Cup, Cornelia Hütter (start number eleven), four other ÖSV athletes have qualified for the World Cup final in Saalbach. The strong downhill skier Mirjam Puchner (6), Stephanie Venier (13), Christina Ager (16) and Ariane Rädler (18) are also there.

09:45

Only Weidle qualifies

Only Weidle qualified for the World Cup final
Only Kira Weidle qualified for the World Cup final in Saalbach with her results. In total there are only 21 female athletes taking part today. The Starnberg native starts with starting number four.

09:40

Does the track hold?

The spring-like weather was already causing problems for the athletes during the week. The downhill training sessions yesterday, Thursday, have already been canceled due to the piste and will be shortened tomorrow. There are no changes for the Super G on the 1.8 kilometer long route. The Norwegian Thomas Rødseth set the course. The route became very icy overnight.

09:35

Will Gut-Behrami get her fifth crystal ball in the Super G?

At the World Cup final in Saalbach there will be a three-way battle for the crystal ball in the Super G. After eight out of nine races, the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami leads the World Cup ranking with 540 points and has the best starting position. The Olympic champion in the Super G at Beijing 2022 is 69 points ahead of the Austrian Cornelia Hütter and 74 points ahead of the Italian Federica Brignone. If the Swiss can defend the lead, it would be her fifth crystal ball in the Super G and her third crystal ball this year.
