FC Sion won 2-1 away from FC Aarau on Thursday. The Valaisians took another step towards direct promotion back to the Super League. FC Thun, who host Schaffhausen on Saturday, are 6 points behind Sitten with one game less. There are still two rounds left in the Challenge League.
Théo Bouchlarhem gave Sion the lead for the first time on Brügglifeld in the 33rd minute. The hosts equalized immediately: just 3 minutes later, Shkelqim Demhasaj converted a cross. Immediately before the break, Isaac Pappoe from Aarau was shown the red card after a rude foul. Despite the numerical superiority, Georgi Russev only redeemed the guests in the 76th minute with the 2-1 winning goal.
