33-year-old Martin Blom lost his life in a kayaking accident in Florø on Tuesday evening.
Relatives notified the police after Blom did not return from a kayak trip he had set out on. He was going to paddle Brandsøysundet – Klavfjorden – Solheimsfjorden.
Crews searched the area for four hours, before they found a lifeless body in the sea east of Ålvora. Rescue crews started with life-saving first aid, and Blom was transported to Haukeland in a rescue helicopter.
Unfortunately, life could not be saved.
On Saturday, the police will release the name. Relatives are informed.
