In a London classic, Chelsea opens the scoring, concedes a comeback, but secures a point in the 27th round of the Premier League

New stumble for the Blues! This Saturday, the 2nd, Chelsea played away from home and drew 2-2 with Brentford.
Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring, while Wissa scored for the home team. In the final stretch, Disasi gave final numbers. The London classic, played at the GTech Stadium, is worth remembering, was valid for the 27th round of the English Championship.
With the result, Chesea reached 36 points in 11th place. Therefore, the Blues are unlikely to play in a UEFA competition in 2024/2025. Brentford, with 26 points, is in 15th place. However, as the round is still ongoing, the positions must be changed.
Chelsea starts badly, but opens the scoring
Chelsea were the best on the field in the first half, but largely due to the overwhelming pace they imposed after 20 minutes. This way, the home team started much better, after all, striker Wissa had at least three good opportunities at the beginning of the stage.
Little by little, however, the Blues grew in the match, especially under the feet of Nicolas Jackson. At 29, he received a great pass from Enzo Fernández, dribbled past the goalkeeper, but shot wide. Shortly afterwards, Malo Gusto went to the baseline and crossed for the Senegalese to open the scoring with a header for Chelsea.
Nicolas Jackson, in fact, had a great game. In fact, he had another good opportunity. Still in the first half, Enzo Fernández gave a beautiful pass to Chilwell, who shot wide, and Gallagher also finished for Chelsea.
Brentford turn around, but Disasi gives final numbers
The second stage also started with Brentford better. This time, however, at an overwhelming pace. At 2, Janelt had a great opportunity. Two minutes later, the home team entered the area and saw Janelt score after Chelsea’s defense “headed”. In the next move, Janelt almost turned around, after all, he shot at the post.
Chelsea responded at 15, when Gusto crossed to Palmer. He, however, shot wide, scraping the post. However, it was Brentford who scored the second goal. A painting, by the way. Onyeka crossed, and Wissa scored with a bicycle kick. In this way, the home team retreated, while the Blues went forward. After much insistence, Disasi scored with a header in the 37th minute with a pass from Palmer.

Now, Chelsea is preparing to host Newcastle on the other Monday (11), at 5pm, also in the English Championship. In the same competition, Brentford visits Arsenal next Saturday (09), at 2:30 pm.
