China Urges Calm After Iran Attack on Israel: Analysis and Reactions

China Calls for Calm After Iran Attacks Israel

After Iran launched air strikes against Israel in retaliation for an attack on Iranian diplomatic facilities in Syria, China has called on “relevant parties to maintain calm and restraint” in order to avoid further escalation of tensions.

Dai Bing, charge d’affaires of the Chinese Mission to the United Nations, stated at an emergency meeting of the Security Council that the conflict was in response to Israel’s actions and that “the relevant issues can be considered resolved at this point.”

While most countries have condemned Iran for the attack, China has not directly criticized Iran, citing its long-standing friendly relations with the country. Despite not naming Israel, Dai Bing did express concern over the escalation of the situation and called for peaceful resolution in accordance with international law.

The United States and Europe have taken a more aggressive stance, warning that Iran will face consequences if further military action is taken against Israel. The Group of Seven also expressed support for Israel and readiness to take further measures to deal with destabilization.

China’s stance on the conflict reflects its concerns about the potential impact on regional peace and stability. China has repeatedly criticized the United States for its support of Israel and has called on influential countries to play a constructive role in resolving the conflict.

The recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East has raised concerns about China’s role in the region, particularly in light of its friendly relations with Iran. The U.S. State Department has urged China to use its influence to prevent further violence and instability.

Analysts believe that the decision-making power to escalate the conflict now rests with Israel, and China’s role in the situation is limited. While Iran’s attacks were measured, the potential for further escalation depends on Israel’s response.

China’s priority is to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control and to protect its interests in the region. The international community is watching closely to see how the situation unfolds and whether peaceful resolution can be achieved.
