– I am not motivated to take another term in the Storting, he says Aftenposten.
The 60-year-old has represented Oslo FRP in the Storting since 2005, but does not want to continue when his last term expires in 2025. He currently sits on the foreign affairs and defense committee in the Storting. He is also a member of the European Committee.
Tybring-Gjedde tells the newspaper that he already mentioned internally a year ago that this would be his last term.
Earlier in the week, both former justice minister Tor Mikkel Wara and FpU leader Simen Velle announced that they want a place on the FRP’s parliamentary list in Oslo. Tybring-Gjedde reacts to the fact that he was not informed in advance by the “challengers”.
– What surprised me was that I was not notified. This would have been clear if I had received a phone call. It wouldn’t have been any more difficult than that, he says.
He himself launches Aina Stenersen as a good heir, and points out that she has put in a good effort for Oslo Frp for years.
Tybring-Gjedde’s daughter, Mathilde Tybring-Gjedde, is a parliamentary representative for the Conservative Party.
