Orlando City defeated the Cavalry in the second leg to secure their ticket to the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup and face Tigres in said round.

For the quarter of an hour, the Cavalry goalkeeper, Marco Carducci, avoided the catastrophe and kept his goal clean by saving Luir Muriel’s low cross shot with one hand.

Two minutes later, Orlando City came on the wing with Ojeda’s escape, but Mohammed and Schlegel got in the way when defining in front of the goal to forgive for the second time.

At 21, Cartagena enabled Ramiro Enrique in three quarters of the field and the Argentine drove to the big area, where he tried to define with three fingers at the first post, but failed in the technique to waste another great opportunity.

The Cavalry had their first dangerous approach until the half hour mark with a header that crossed the six-yard box and then went over the goal line.

At 35, Ramiro Enrique again tried to move the nets with his header at the near post that Carducci again saved to go into the break.

The goal that sparked the victory came in the first three minutes of the second half when Muriel stole the ball in three quarters of the field, drove to the crescent and served for the first shot of Nicolás Lodeiro, who had a minute of activity in the basketball court.

Cavalry would score the proud goal at 65′ via Myer Bevan, only to make up the overall score of 5-1, because five minutes later, Enrique finally added a goal under his name with a powerful shot from the edge of the large area to seal the ‘little hand’.

Orlando City will host Tigres on Tuesday, March 5 and will close the Round of 16 series on March 12 at the Estadio Universitario de Monterrey, Nuevo León.
