Total solar eclipse will occur in North America on April 8, 2024. Even though this astronomical phenomenon is common in various parts of the world, it still occurs conspiracy theory and misinformation about this incident.
A number of videos uploaded on YouTube and TikTok believe that next month’s total solar eclipse will be a sign of the end times. One claim often found on Tiktok is that a total solar eclipse will pass through six, seven, or eight cities called Nineveh in the United States and Canada.
Nineveh, or Nineveh, was the city visited by the Prophet Jonah. Some TikTok creators believe an eclipse occurred while the Prophet Jonah was in Nineveh, which means the same thing will happen in America next Monday.

In reality, the path of the total solar eclipse or path of tatlity does not pass through six, seven, or eight cities called Nineveh. The line only passed through two towns called Nineveh, in Ohio and Indiana.
Dan Mclellan, a Bible expert who frequently answers questions about religion on TikTok, said this claim is absurd. His own map, created using NASA data, also shows there are only two cities named Nineveh in the US.
“Anyone who says that these cities are included in the path of totality is lying about their location or has manipulated the path of totality,” said Mclellan in his latest video, as quoted from Gizmodo, Saturday (30/3/2024).
Apart from religious-based conspiracy theories, there are also a number of TikTokers who make claims total solar eclipse will result in the ‘simulation’ of our world ending.
This theory is related to the belief that human life on Earth is actually a computer simulation but we are not aware of it. The creator of the theoretical video used strange mathematical calculations to prove that we are living in a simulation related to the solar eclipse schedule.
Another thing that social media users are focusing on is the possibility of the power grid and telecommunications infrastructure collapsing total solar eclipse taking place.
It turns out that the TikTok user selected quotes from news articles and displayed them without context. At the end of the video, the TikTok user even promotes the flashlight and charger he is selling.
