A process of modernizing systems and equipment of Mail begins to produce results, according to estimates from the company responsible for the work, the information technology consultancy Service IT. Around eleven months after the company’s database was migrated to a new cloud platform, called Oracle, in March 2023, some processes began to show gains in agility. The state-owned company with more than 86,000 employees took six hours to complete its payroll, a time that was reduced to two hours. Calculating benefits, such as meal vouchers, now takes 11 minutes — before, it took 50 minutes.

In addition to updating systems, machines with more than ten years of use were replaced. “We are in a highly competitive market and we work with deadlines, so the flexibility that the project brought us made it possible for us to be more efficient, with productivity gains”, says Maria do Carmo Perpétuo, economic-financial, technology and information security director at Correios. Winner of the bid in January 2022, Service IT will be responsible for managing Correios data and equipment for another 37 months, in Brasília and São Paulo.
