Sport: Courtois has been out all season with knee ligament damage and suffered a further setback in March that required another knee operation.
Meanwhile, Andrij Lunin has won Ancelotti’s trust ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is on loan from Chelsea.
Courtois was also in the Real squad when they visited Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, but then sat the entire match on the bench.
The 31-year-old made the switch from Chelsea to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, where he has helped win every tournament the club competes in. After five years, the Belgian has 230 games for the Spanish capital club.
Despite Courtois’ comeback, he has already been ruled out of this summer’s football European Championship in Germany.
