Ivy-Rose is one of the smallest victims of Covid-19 in Britain. As reported by the Guardian, the newborn was born premature at 26 weeks of gestation and positive coronavirus. The infection had been contracted from the mother during pregnancy. The woman had not vaccinated for fear of the effects of the vaccine on the unborn child, while the partner contracted the coronavirus despite having completed the vaccination process.
The Royal College of Midwives recommends that pregnant women get vaccinated. The National Health System recommends the use of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine for pregnant women.
